To Scrub or Not to Scrub

What are the benefits of an exfoliating spa treatment?

Published: 2nd April 2014

Most spas offer them but we rarely book in for one- today on the Whi-Spa blog we’re talking body scrubs.

When offered the choice of a body scrub or back, neck and shoulder massage we normally plump for the latter, yet did you know that an indulgent body scrub is not only a thoroughly enjoyable treatment in it’s own right but a great lead up to a massage or body envelopment treatment?

The perfect prelude to a body massage, an exfoliating treatment prepares your skin to soak up all the goodness of the massage lotions and oils. By removing the dead skin cells that can leave the skin looking dull, (especially after a winter hidden under jumpers), your skin will not only look brighter but will feel silky soft and smooth. After your scrub you will then have a moisturiser applied which thanks to your treatment, will soak in effectively and leave your skin feeling fresh and fabulous.

Some hotel chains such as QHotels offer ‘ritual’ treatments as part of their spa days and spa breaks. They include aspects of several treatments for a complete spa experience, including body exfoliation. These treatments are designed to leave you feeling refreshed, restored and revitalised from top to toe.

So what are you waiting for? Book in for a beautiful body scrub on your next spa day!
