Bovey Castle, formerly known as Bovey Manor House, dates back to 1890. It was built by Fredrick Smith (son of WH Smith) and then sold in 1928 to the Great Western Railway. It was reopened as a hotel with golf course in 1930, changed hands again in 1991, and is now a luxury 5 star hotel with stunning views over the Dartmoor countryside, complete with spa, lodges, pool, and one of the finest golf courses in England.
For luxurious spa treatments , using award winning skin care range ESPA , a trip to the Elan spa is a must, relax in the sauna and steam room, revitalise in the Jacuzzi, swim a few lengths of the Art Deco swimming pool which is housed in The Orangery, then enjoy the views of the River Bovey from the sun terrace.

Light lunches and snacks are served in the light, airy and relaxed atmosphere of Smith's Brasserie or partake afternoon tea in the comfort of the Great Western Restaurant or the Cathedral Room. For more formal dining, visit the Great Western Restaurant which offers a tempting array of dishes.
